Megan Westphal is a senior double-major in Violin Performance and Voice Performance at Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina, where she studies violin with Dr. Brandon Ironside and voice with Dr. Megan Stapleton. Megan plans to pursue a master’s degree in Music Therapy. She enjoys working as the Bob Jones Symphony Orchestra Librarian, in addition to being a member of the BJUSO and Concert Choir. Megan has been a part of Mozart’s opera Cosí Fan Tutte as the cover for Despina. She has also had the opportunity to play under the direction of Richard Kaufman (Grammy-award winning conductor) with BJUSO and has received violin lessons from David Kim (concertmaster of the Philadelphia Orchestra). She also enjoys teaching music lessons, playing in string quartets, as well as singing and playing for church, competitions, masterclasses, recitals, and weddings. She is currently a member of the Music Teacher’s National Association. Outside of practice hours, classes, rehearsals, and work, she enjoys creating art, journaling, learning, and spending time with family and friends.
