Megan Westphal is a Junior double-major in Violin Performance and Voice Performance at Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina, where she studies violin with Dr. Brandon Ironside and voice with Dr. Shellie Beeman. Megan was recently a part of Mozart’s opera Cosí Fan Tutte as the cover for Despina. She also enjoys working as the Bob Jones Symphony Orchestra Librarian, in addition to being a member of the BJUSO and Collegiate Choir. She has had the opportunity to play under the direction of Richard Kaufman (Grammy-award winning conductor) with BJUSO and has received violin lessons from David Kim (concertmaster of the Philadelphia Orchestra). She also enjoys studying Music Theory IV, playing in string quartets, as well as singing and playing for church, competitions, masterclasses, recitals, and weddings. She is currently a member of the Music Teacher’s National Association and the American Choral Director’s Association. Outside of practice hours, classes, rehearsals, and work, she enjoys composing music, running, reading, journaling, and spending time with family and friends.
