ALPHA
ABOUT
The Alpha level is designed to be an excellent first orchestra experience for young string players. Developing their musicianship will be accomplished by participation in the Alpha String Orchestra, with emphasis on rhythmic and technical skills. Attention will also be given to ensemble skills such as listening, following the director, and playing in tune. Additional activities include devotions, sectionals and music appreciation. Music will be sent out to camp participants several weeks beforehand.
*Students registering for the Alpha track should be able to read music comparable to the middle of Suzuki Book 1.

Below are examples/excerpts of music previously played by the Alpha orchestra. Repertoire may be easier or more challenging than these examples, but this is an average difficulty level to help parents and teachers in determining which level is best for their student.
